I failed to recognize what phase of life cycle these insects were at. But their fascinating movements on water caught my eye. Unfortunately, I was with no tripod that added a great problem to the situation as only trails were what's important in this photograph. I also wanted them to evenly spread across the frame. So I took many photographs on that day for all those concerns. Finally, I got what I wanted.
